Alejandro SALGADO VEGA is the leader of one of the world’s largest cocaine distribution networks, responsible for smuggling large consignments of cocaine into Spain.Alejandro Salgado Vega is therefore portrayed as the leader of a criminal organisation involved in international drug trafficking, exercising hierarchical control over his associates and directing both drug trafficking operations and money laundering activities. He has extensive financial and logistical resources, both nationally and internationally, which he uses to channel large sums of money derived from his illicit activities into the legal financial system, relying for this purpose on his extensive network of associates.Similarly, Alejandro holds numerous assets in various countries, including the United Arab Emirates, where he has direct links with what is known as the ‘Dubai Banking Network’, which is responsible for financing his criminal activities of drug trafficking and money laundering through sophisticated Hawala systems.SALGADO’s organisation, and SALGADO himself, have the capacity to infiltrate public institutions by bribing officials within them who collaborate in their activities.
