This policy explains what happens to your data when you visit malandro.io. It is written to be read, not to cover ourselves: if anything is unclear, write to us and we will explain. The identifying details of the site owner are in the legal notice.
The short version
You do not need an account to use this site and we do not ask you for any personal data. We do not sell data, we do not profile our visitors, we show no advertising and we send no newsletters. What does happen: our hosting provider keeps technical server logs, and Google Analytics measures the audience, which installs third-party cookies in your browser.
What data we process and why
- Browsing data (server logs). Like any web server, ours records each request: IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser and operating system, and the referring page. Purpose: keeping the service running, diagnosing errors and detecting abuse (mass scraping, attacks). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security and stability of the site (art. 6.1.f GDPR). These logs are managed by our hosting provider, DreamHost.
- Search. The site search runs entirely in your browser against a static index. Your queries are not sent to our server and are not stored.
- Emails you send us. If you write to info@malandro.io (or to the takedown address) we process your address and whatever you tell us for the sole purpose of replying and, where appropriate, correcting the content you point out. Legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in handling the request. We keep the correspondence for as long as it is useful for that purpose and for a maximum of 3 years; we never add you to any mailing list.
- Analytics. See the cookies section below.
Cookies used by this site
A cookie is a small file that a site stores in your browser. This site sets no first-party cookies: the only ones you will find come from Google Analytics.
Google Analytics 4 (property G-KBHYN86M58) measures the audience: pages viewed, approximate origin, device. Google truncates IP addresses and we receive no report that identifies a specific person. Google acts as an independent controller for the data it collects through these cookies.
Third-party cookies that may be set while browsing malandro.io
| Cookie | Owner and purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google (Analytics 4) — assigns a random identifier to distinguish visits and measure the audience. | 2 years |
| _ga_KBHYN86M58 | Google (Analytics 4) — keeps the session state for this property. | 2 years |
How to block or delete these cookies
You can decide for yourself from your browser: block third-party cookies (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge allow it in their privacy settings, and that is enough to stop everything in the table above), delete the ones already stored, or browse in a private window.
You can also go to the source: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop being measured by Analytics on any site, and review your settings at myaccount.google.com.
Blocking these cookies does not break the site: all content works without them.
Who else sees your data
We do not sell or share your data. It is processed only by the providers we need to run the site: DreamHost (hosting, based in the United States) and Google Ireland / Google LLC (Analytics). Google may transfer data to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
We also link to external sources (Interpol, the FBI, Europol, the UK National Crime Agency, the Policía Nacional, the Guardia Civil and other institutional sites). When you click one of those links you leave our site and the destination's policy applies.
How long we keep it
- Hosting server logs: according to the provider's schedule, normally a few weeks.
- Email correspondence: up to 3 years.
- Analytics data: kept by Google according to its own policies.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time for access to your data, its rectification, erasure, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to info@malandro.io and we will reply within one month. Bear in mind that, if you have never given us your data, the most we will hold about you is a server log line that we cannot link to you.
If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
Minors
This site is not aimed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a minor has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever we change what we do with data, together with the last-updated date above. The version in force is always the one published here.
Contact
For any question about privacy, cookies or exercising your rights: info@malandro.io. It is a real mailbox read by a person, and the only channel we ask you to use: we deliberately have no contact form, so that none of your data travels or is stored anywhere beyond the message you choose to send us.
